Effect of Television in Childhood
Children who spent most time in passive viewing had almost triple the risk of sleep difficulties of those who spent the least.
The families of 297 children completed questionnaires on sleep routines and TV viewing habits that included details about the time spending watching, the type of show, and whether the parents and children watch together . The researcher estimated the time spent in "Passive viewing" from the data they gather.
On average, the television was on for 2.8 hours a day during the childs working hours and the watch actively for 1.5 hours.
