Prithvi raj kapoor, the Mughal-E-Ajam

Prithvi raj Kapoor, undoubtedly most handsome actor of Indian Hindi cinema. He can be called as Mughal-E-Azam of hindi cinema, as he got fame and popularity from  the the film Mughal-E-Azam where he plays a role of Mughal emperor Akbar. He is famous for his Voice. He is the founder of first ever filmy faimly - the Kapoors.
Prithvi raj kapoor, was born in punjab,the son of a police officer.He has completed his education from loyallpur and lahore. 
He came to bombay in 1928, leaving his wife and children in peshawar and join Imperail film company, and acted in B P mishra film "Cinema Girl". He also acted in first ever talkie hindi film in india Alam Ara in 1931, however, he is not in lead role in this film.

The turning point in Prithviraj's life came when he shifted to New Theatres, Calcutta in 1933. He broke through that year with Rajrani Meera (1933) and then with Debaki Bose's Seeta (1934). He mainly acted in their Hindi versions with Durgadas Banerjee often playing the same role in the Bengali version. Prithviraj was associated with some of the best films of New Theatres like Manzil (1936), President (1937) and his crowning glory Vidyapathi (1937) where he played the King Shiva Singha whose wife falls in love with the poet Vidyapathi.
His one of the best known hindi film was Pagal in 1940 with Ranjit, he plays a pshychic doctor's role.
His memorable film was Sikander in 1941 with Sohrab Modi where he plays the role of "Alexender the Great". Its dramatic, declamatory dialogues gave both Prithviraj Kapoor and Sohrab Modi free reign to their histrionic proclivities. Prithviraj made a handsome, dashing Sikander and the film heightened his enduring reputation for playing royalty, enhanced further by his role as Akbar in Mughal-e-Azam (1960)

In 1944, he open Prithvi theater, the first ever modern, professional at his time.The Prithvi Theatre is located at Janki Kutir, on Juhu Church Road a by lane near Juhu Beach.Prithvi Theatre set the trail for the present day concept of theatre. After the demise of Prithviraj Kapoor in 1972, his son Shashi Kapoor and daughter-in-law Jennifer Kapoor established the Prithviraj Kapoor Memorial Trust and bought a land in 1975
