KHATRI OF UTTER PRADESH :-
Utter pradesh was first known as agra and awadh.The khatri people who migrated from punjab to delhi followed the culture and living style of people in and around delhi and agra. They any- how continued following few of their old custome and added few more according to the circumstances in which they lived .
The living places like delhi and agra etc changed the life style as well as culture of all these people thereby making the khatries of these places different from each other and they begun to recognize themselves as delhi wale khatries and agra wala khatries . Thus the people started knowing by the place its style and not by the real origin place .The whole of the India was divided into khatries of different places like sikhra- of sikh , poorviya of utter pradesh , panchiya of Punjab and so on .
This also resulted in origin of their supremacy and thus created a tiff while going for the matrimorial ceremony.
Khatri denied to accept some cases of khatries like bhatia arora and sood . although these are the sub-costs of khatries . On the coming days khatries casts is divided into following parts :-

List of 4 tallukedar ‘s also described in the census of avadh {1969}. The vlost has been made by English after the 1857 R in 1859 .The khstries have retain their higher position in this census also . From the book of H.N.BLIOTE , there are various number of khatries in the various cities of U.P but much more spread in the kanpur which is approx. 8457 .
In 1500 many khatries migrated to saharanpur from multan and peshaver . The district which have more than 1000 khatries are merut , saharanpur , alighar , mathura , agra , farukhabad , kanpur{2548 }varanasi {3814}, banda , mirzapur , khiri , bahraich , barabanki , etc.
Akhil bhartiya khatri maha sabha adhiveshan held in lucknow in 1916, 1936 , 1952 and 1980 .
Lucknow upkhatri sabha established in lucknow in 1927 and khatri hitashi come in to presence from 1936.
